Experimental Image-Making Processes

This unit explores the use of traditional and digital image-making processes to create experimental forms for music. Students are encouraged to play, take risks, experiment and explore a range of image-making technologies. The first assessment invites students to chose one overarching music genre and eight sub genres then conceptualise two visual experiments per sub genre to form a four panel square poster design that comprises one experiment from each sub genre. The second assessment invites students to redesign an existing album cover as a special edition gatefold album for an artist or act within their chosen music genre.
